Welcome to the Boston Children’s Hospital online CME course “Pediatric Lumps and Bumps of the Spine,” presented by Dr. Edward R. Smith, Co-Director of the Cerebrovascular Surgery and Interventions Center at Boston Children's Hospital. This course provides an evidence-based review of cutaneous spinal abnormalities that indicate a tethered cord, and when those conditions indicate referral to a Neurosurgeon.
This is a self-paced course that may be started and completed at any time.
Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:
Identify benign and concerning growths of the spine in children.
Assess the implications of spine growth findings in children.
Plan treatment for common spine growths, and refer appropriately for follow up evaluation and treatment.

FORMAT AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
This course is self-paced, using text and video with pre and post-test assessments. Speakers or headphones are required for audio, but video content can also be accessed without audio via downloadable transcripts.
